Countdown to the Ball: -1 Day

So pennsic officially started yesterday but as we only camp during War Week, I actually have an extra week to finish things up.

First up: my dress has lacing rings and is officially done!

The lacing rings are little gold jump rings from the jewelry stash and the laces are olive cording from Joanns. The aglets were made by melting the end of the cord, cutting into a point and then pushing the end into a gold tubular bead. I then threaded a teardrop pearl and a tiny gold bead onto a needle, pushed the needle up through the gold tube and into the cord, quickly filled the tube with superglue before pulling the teardrop into place and then wrapping the thread around the cord to finish off and hide any extra melted bits.

The camicia was found during the Great Cleaning, and still fits, so that's one outfit: done.

Adam got a hat:

The fabric is silk from an outfit that I made for a friend several years ago. He cut all the pieces for me and I got it assembled early one morning when I couldn't sleep (thanks, allergies). He did the feather decoration by arranging some feathersfrom the stash into an aglet and I glued a cabochon into a setting for his pin.

The kiddo has pants and a doublet:

The pants are lined in black linen and button with some matte gold buttons. The doublet fastens with hook and eyes.

This weekend's goals are shirt, sleeves and a sword cloak.
